My name is Luz Hernández. I am the founder and owner of Sandunga Mexican Handicraft. 

I live in Amsterdam, the city I love, because of its freedom and cultural diversity and openness.

I was born in Puebla, a bit south of the centre of Mexico, near Mexico City. 

My father was from Oaxaca, one of the most culturally diverse states of the country, with an important indigenous population. The richness of its traditions can be found in its delicious food, but also in the beautiful handicrafts.  

As a tribute to my roots and to contribute to the preservation of the handicraft culture in Oaxaca and other parts of my beloved country, I decided to start this project, to proudly promote the wealth of Mexican handicrafts and to support the indigenous communities of producers in Oaxaca and other states of my beloved country.
