The Sandunga Project
The “Sandunga” project originates from a concern for the preservation of artisanal culture in Mexico.
The country’s impressive wealth of handmade products represents and contributes in a valuable way to its national identity.
Unfortunately however, the unique and laborious work of the craftsmen is undervalued and underpaid. This fact and the general marginalisation of indigenous communities in Mexico result in the gradual loss of a tradition, and are related to the problem of migration to -mainly- the United States.
